THE J-ROCK SAGA! aims to inform jrock fans and point to them to other good resources about japanese rock on the web.

information, recommendations, reviews, articles, links, samples, some goodies and hopefully some fun stuff too.

what you WON'T find on this site:
extensive galleries and scans, mp3/video repositories, lewd fanfics, jpop.

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY:
the whole thing started with a thread on the old marilynmanson.net bbs. i wanted to share info about j-rock with the forum users, so i typed out a list with basic info, artist recommendations and links to various sites of interest. the thread, which, because of it's length, i named 'THE J-ROCK SAGA!', started to get bigger and bigger until it became unpractical to post in it. also, updating info on the thread was impossible after a while. so i decided to take the text i had posted and put it on a website. from there on, instead of giving out the info, i just pointed people to the url.

and that's how the saga was born.

the site's been up since july 29th 2002 and you are currently browsing its third incarnation. it's also my first php-based site. the first version was very simple, just a quick menu and the saga text. the second version contained more info and features and was a bit more experimental. as such, there were some browser compatibility issues, so i had to work on two separate versions. updating the site became a very dull task, so i decided to put all the content on a database and use php. here are snaps of the old layouts, just for kicks:

there are 268 artists listed on the artist index, with a total of 530 links.
there are 209 resources linked.
there are 23 artist recommendations, 75 glossary terms and 17 questions answered on the guide.
there are 83 articles on the grab bag.
